Documentary Dempsey vs Tunney

Download The MP3 Here.

This was made in 2002 for the 75th anniversary of the 1927 classic bout held at Chicago's Soldier Field. Joining me are Sports Historians Bert Sugar, Roger Kahn Budd Schulberg, Jack Cavanaugh, Studs Terkel, David Zivin, and Sean Curtain.

The documentary examines the events leading up to both Dempsey Tunney bouts. How involved were the Chicago and Philadelphia mobs in the planning and outcomes of the matches? Was referee Dave Barry on the take for the match? How did Tunney seem to have the more powerful Dempsey's number? Is Gene underated as a Heavyweight Champ?

You'll hear points of view that will last you many hours for bar conversations and debates.

This weekend Klitchko Vs Adamek prediction

Why does this feel like Holmes vs Spinks I ? Because we all suspect that the Klitschko brothers will only lose when they begin to age, just like what happened to Larry . Tomaz Adamek is obviously the Micheal Spinks in this equation, and frankly the most accomplished little man since Spinks, whacking out contenders like Samuel Peete and Chris Arreola and former champs like Lamon Brewster.

Vitali better not take this small man for granted. Adamek has the toughest chin in boxing. I saw it first hand when he fought Paul Briggs both times and have been impressed with his steady rise in weight and achievements .

I do think Adamek has the punching power to hurt Vitali, the question is will he be able to reach his target, given Klitschko's natural style of keeping opponents away with his reach and jab? I'm guessing no, but he'll try a lot harder than David Haye did against  V's brother Wladimir last month.

Klitschko should win, but I'm betting by a tactical busy performance .
